Design Culture is a famous Brazilian design blog that's mission is to share knowledge about design and promote workshops about design, advertising and marketing. I'm facilitator at User Experience Design workshop, where the objective is to help juniors designer boost their career or change their focus from Graphic to Digital Design.
For each classes, I presented them with a problem and the goal was to create a solution based on User Centered Design principles process.
Teaching is where I best learn practices to transmit knowledge, improve my empathy, listen more, speak less and contribute to students career transformation.
Step 01 - Analysis
First, I talk about what empathy is, the career challenge, Ux role, the diference between Ux and Ui design and explain some research methods. After the discussion, the students start their research about the problem that needs solving. When this step is finished, the students deliver some artefacts to help them to continue the project. Eg., proto-personas profile, empathy map and research data.
Step 02 - Design the problem and user needs
After understanding the problem and user needs, the students start thinking about the solution proposal. Creating user flow, sketches, wireframes in low or high fidelity and prioritising the most valuable feature for the users.
Step 03 - Prototype
For the third step, students start their prototype using Adobe XD, Axure or paper.
Step 04 - Validation
At this stage, the students write a usability test based in what problem they solve. After this, they test their solutions with another students group to validate and colect feedback.
